| Banks contract with Yodlee (or others) to provide the aggregation service. It's one of Yodlee's selling points. Individuals are not Yodlee's customers - banks are. | That doesn't necessarily get the data into Money. Some people appreciate having the data to support analysis and management. Other just want to look at it. | Maintaining that list is probably quite a task. You could call the bank. You tried that. They don't care and don't even want to acknowledge Yodlee's existence. You could call Microsoft. You tried that. They might care but are all but powerless to change things they don't--can't--control. I don't recall if you've tried calling Yodlee--they'll probably tell you to call Microsoft or your bank. In this case, they are working for Microsoft, not you. Sad, but there you have it. | Thank you Bob, Steve and Dick for your replies. I just went to Yodlee's website, and it appears they are now offering banks set up for online financial management. It appears one of my banks, Wachovia... is doing so through them. Although I prefer to keep that info on MY computer. Here's a demo: http://corporate.yodlee.com/moneycenter/PFM_demo.htm Wachovia bank works very well with Money. I have no problems downloading statements at all from them. It's a breeze, no double listings, matching my manual inputs correctly every time.. I love it. Just wish all the banks would work with Money so well. It's a real shame, when a bank like PNC chooses favorites... or gets fees or whatever it is they are doing that they push Quicken. Heck it's all about business which is all about making money and spending it in the right places. I could understand. But it would make my life so much easier .Guess I was just a little perturb at M$ for not telling me the honest truth about my problem. Heck it could have just been a new techi, but I thought someone would know why they quit PNC bank. PNC is constantly changing their web site, just like Bob said. That more than likely is why they quit. See my point ? ![]() > Carole, I see your point and I apologize for assuming you were a newbee. What Dick says about Yodlee is very true. I understand your need to get daily bank information and I would suggest you do what I do everyday. I DO have access to all my paper transactions either bank or credit card so I enter them manually into Money each day and then confirm the ongoing balance at the bank or credit card site each day. I can also do this by phone. In your case you could probably see the transactions your husband made online each day and manually enter them IF the bank download doesn't work with Money. I find that I have better data in Money if I manage it manually rather than getting everything downloaded automatically and then having to manually confirm that the download is OK. I have 11 years of all this data in Money now and am generally happy and NOT frustrated like all the people who complain here. I just don't believe that the technology is so good that a $30 product like Money will always download correct data and the reporting will be correct. As a former accountant myself I think my approach is better, but everyone has to do what they need to do. Good luck again. Steve |

| I understand "where you are coming from" but you should realize that the whole download transactions technology is a hack job. As Bob Peel notes, Yodlee is kind of a parasite to the banks--as many of them also view Money/Quicken. And Yodlee works in a total fakeout way--it pretends to be you and logins into their web site, just like you would, on your behalf. As Bob notes, it's pretty easy for the banks to intentionally or unintentionally knock Yodlee over by making minor changes to their pages. But don't think that it's as simple as Bob notes that the banks just want to show you their ads only. Money wants to show you its ads and Quicken wants to show you its ads as well. It's not about what you want/need/desire in any case. It's about serving your eyes up for paying advertisers--the real customers in this scenario--to show you ads. I wish I had a more helpful answer to your specific issue. | Hi Steve, Oh yes, I know and utilize many of the other goodies from Money. I have been since the late 90's. I use the advanced registry... it's much more than a check book. Every penny we spend is input into one of my many accounts. I track my spending, my credit cards and use it for my husbands business too. Nice to know where your money goes, when it goes so fast. I also use it for our income tax returns. One thing I love is it's nice to look up a purchase when you are wondering if the warranty is still good, much better than searching through years of receipts. I'm hooked! This whole thing just makes me a little pissy that's all. If it can be done by computer vs. printing up an online invoice and then typing... that's the way I like it . Besides my husband doesn't give me receipts until theyare a month old... so I need to track the spending daily from the banks site. It seems you are more interested in uploading and downloading data between your bank and Money than in MANAGING your personal finance. Yodlee won't help you to manage your personal finance and although I've never used Quicken, I'd bet they do just about the same things Money does. Good luck to you. Steve |

| The problem with Yodlee is that the Banks don't like it. They would much rather you went to their web site so they can bombard you with ads - sorry important messages and offers. All they have to do is regularly change their web pages or change the log in processes so that Yodlee can't keep up or satisfy the login criteria. -- Regards Bob Peel, Microsoft MVP - Money For UK tips & fixes see http://support.microsoft.com/default...d=fh;EN-GB;mny. | I posted a previous message, but just got off the phone with MS. As of yesterday, I could no longer connect to PNC bank. I upgraded to 2005 only because it works with PNC bank... now it doesn't!!! I was told by the technician, that MY BANK, no longer works with Money. Not true, it never did... couldn't remember the name Yodlee, so I was getting no where using the term 3rd party provider. LOL 1st call to MS: technician told me to call my bank... who I know doesn't have a clue about Yodlee. 2nd call (same tech): when I remember the name Yodlee, tech told me they couldn't mention the name Yodlee (cuss word I guess). So now he says it's Yodlee that cannot work with my bank. I was under the impression, if I could, so could they. Do they need permission from the bank? I didn't think so. Why would Yodlee suddenly not be able to connect to my bank because MY BANK no longer supports Money? It never did. Is MS still working with Yodlee? It might not be the best, but I have a work around for the double postings and I got used to it. I may have to purchase Quicken, that works with my bank directly. Unfortunately PNC bank does not have any way of downloading quicken statements, or else I'd just convert them to Money. One more thing, I've been to yodlee.com, but can't find the link where I can see my account there... never could find it. Could someone post this link? TIA, Carole |
