| Yes, you do have to look at the monthly and the annual summary to see everything you want. Money could use a better budget report format and I like your idea of the annual report with the current/previous month but we are not likely to get that. The big full year report is nice but I agree that it is a pain to see it since it is too wide even for my 21" monitor and I have to scroll sideways to see all the months. | Thanks William. The full year report is nice. However, does that mean I have to view two reports? One to see those budget items that have an annual budget and another report for those that are monthly? The full year report does show each month as you school to the right. I'd like to see the year report and current or previous month. With the current full year report, I have to school all the way right to see December, which means I can no longer see the year report (first three columns). Brett |

| I have never seen Money SB 2004 but in all the versions I have seen, the budget summary and budget reports show year to date Actual expenses and the total Budgeted amounts for the current year. I have many annual budget amounts, Money does tell me I am over budget in a given month if I spend more than 1/12 of the annual amount but in the full year reports, Money lists the actual expense so far and the total annual budgeted amount. Maybe you are only looking at monthly reports. Look at a full year report and I bet it will show you what you expect. | I've setup a budget in MS Money SB 2004. I have one category with an annual budget of $720. If I spend $100 in a certain month, Money says I'm over budget for that category. It takes the annual $720 and splits it into $60/mo. It sees my $100 is over $60. However, this isn't a monthly budget. There should be some indication that I have $620 left to spend in this category. Is there a way to set that up? Does Money 2006 do anything better in this regard? Thanks, Brett |
