| Though I won't praise much else about M07 vs. M06/5 or the M02-4 version which I generally preferred, I can second the potential performance enhancing ability of nuke-the-bills. My gains in performance and stability vs. M06 were very impressive. See http://umpmfaq.info/faqdb.php?q=187 for more on nuke-the-bills including the issues associated with its use. | My file with M06 was 40,140KB (that's the size of the backed up file), and it is now with M07 37,668KB, with a couple of more weeks of data. So M07 reduced the file a bit, but not much. In terms of performance, though, the change was more dramatic. In my case, M05 was painfully slow, M06 improved that a bit, and M07, after "nuking the bills" , has mad a big change! I wouldn't say itresponds instantly (still a 38MB file), but it is much quicker than before: - less than 15 seconds to open the first time, but if you reopen it, less than 5 secs, when it used to be more than 1 minute with M06 - less than1 sec to save one edited occurrence of a bill, instead of 15 to 20 seconds with M06 - a couple of seconds to show the home page, vs more than 30 secs with M06 In my case, big improvement! But to answer you question... yes, it used to be VERY slow, at least since M05 (can't remember about M04). | Hi Joe, Since youre running Money since 1995, your money file must have grown to around 50MB+ , do you have experience that the software is running so slow? -- Nothing but .Net "Jose" wrote: - quote - > Hi, > I have been using MS Money since 1995, and for as long as I can > remember, I've been using the "deluxe" version (well, since they > started to have more than one version!) > After using the trial version for a few days, I have decided to > purchase M07. | A1) To my knowledge, there is no difference in the investments section of the locally installed app. The difference is the GainsKeeper service. See http://www.gainskeeper.com to see if it's relevant to you. A2) Deluxe. The financial add-ons do nothing for me so I would say go with Deluxe if you can find it in a store. I have never bought Money as a download because I want a hard copy of the program in hand. Steve |

| Hi, I have been using MS Money since 1995, and for as long as I can remember, I've been using the "deluxe" version (well, since they started to have more than one version!) After using the trial version for a few days, I have decided to purchase M07. I was going to buy the Deluxe version, but I am not sure if Premium is worth it. I checked in MS web site, and I don't think I am going to use the financial services that are included. And I am not sure what difference will there be in the investments section. What are you guys using? Deluxe or Premium? Thanks!! Jose |
