| I see... I was asking, because I am maintaining both alive, in two different PCs, but I won't do that more than a couple of days... So I am still in time to go back to M06 if needed, and I'm still evaluating it. So far, I see no improvements other than performance, but that is good enough! So I will likely stay with M07. Thanks! | BTW, I don't like how M07 does a number of things; but M06 would be no solution to that and I'm already past any simple point-of-no-return with my M07 data file. | To compare. M07 enabled nuke-the-bills. If I hadn't nuked the bills, I would likely have had to pass on M07 as I did on M06 for the same reasons of performance and stability. | Thanks, Dick! I just disconnected the budget from LP. I don't know if the results are more accurate now, but at least, they look like they did in M2006! When you say you wish you had M06 running, you mean to compare? Or because you don't like how M07 does some things? Thanks! | It definitely did, but I haven't quantified it yet. Tax categories used to be 'silently' ignored in expenses inherited by LP from the Advanced Budget. That's no longer the case, I don't think. That's just one example. -- Chris Cowles Gainesville, FL "Dick Watson" <littlegreengecko[at]mind-enufalready-spring.com> wrote in message news:OOovPFDzGHA.4596[at]TK2MSFTNGP02.phx.gbl... - quote - > I wish I still had a M04/M06 version running--I think something has > changed in how they are doing this, but I can't demonstrate it. |

| You re-created the loan payments in the only sensible way. I think this is just another example of why AB's inclusion of the Loan Payments (principal portion) under the "Debt" category is just boneheaded. The side effect you see, using budget in LP for expenses double counts the loan payments, is another. Note that it will also propagate "Transfers out of budget accounts" which may double count Savings & Investment, depending on how you have all of that setup. I'd just disconnect the Budget from LP and use either it's calculated income-taxes ... number or a customized version thereof. The Budget stuff is just too likely to be all horked up to begin with and then these double counting errors also get into play. Like all things with the Money analytic tools, you have to be prepared to understand what it's doing, or it's just garbage in, garbage out. I wish I still had a M04/M06 version running--I think something has changed in how they are doing this, but I can't demonstrate it. | Hi, I've read many threads about this "nuke-the-bills" process, and since I suffered poor performance issues since several versions ago, I decided to give it a try. I used M2007 trial version, and performance has increased considerably!! Start up time is much shorter, and normal operations run also faster. But I have an issue... The lifetime planner section is duplicating the loan payments. I could not find the way to re-create the loan payment bills, so I created them as new bills. When I did, and I set the category as "loan payment : xxx act", it recognized it very nicely! Number of remaining payments, split of principal + interests showing as "calculated values"... it looked too good to be true! Well, it seems that those bills are now part of my "living expenses" in the lifetime planner, although they are also included in the loans&debt section. I am letting the lifetime planner to get the living expenses from my budget, and I would like to leave it like that. I wonder if it is so because of the way I re-created the loan payments... For those of you that have gone through the process... What is the best way to re-create loan payments after "nuking-the-bills"? THANKS! Jose |
