I agree, there could be some concurrency issues. Does Money not have
locking at some level (file or record)? However, what I was addressing was
the issue of accessing a single file as opposed to having to make a copy on
a floppy or CD and physically transporting the file back and forth between
two computers.

I don't know if I would say no major problems. He certainly would
not want to have both computers trying to access the file at the
same time.

A really neat way to find prior postings in this group is to use the
Google Usenet Groups archive.

http://groups.google.com/advanced_group_search enter words that you
think would be in relevant posts into the "all of the words" box.
Enter microsoft.public.money into the newsgroup box. Consider
selecting Sort By Date.

If the two computers are networked, no major problem. If not, . . .

Default dual computer use

Thanks for the insight. Is it reasonably straight-forward
to maintain a single data file on two computers or would we
need to pass a disc back and forth to achieve that?

Default dual computer use

If you were to maintain a single Money data file it would
be straightforward to generate the desired reports. Within
that file you can keep accounts separate.

If each computer had its own data file, you would have to
go thru some gyrations to export/import data.

Default dual computer use

I haven't yet purchased Money. If I do, I'd really like to
run it on my computer and on my wife's, then occasionally
merge the date into a household summary to track our
overall expenses.

Does the software facilitate this?
