Investment report
Portfolio appreciation (whether by type or account was irrelevant)

When this report included a date range (e.g. anything other than All Dates), in
M1999 (and prior), the report would show only those positions which were either
held or had activity during the date range. Beginning in 2000, this report
showed ALL holdings that were ever held, even if they were not held during the
date range and had no activity during that range.

I purchase and sell about 40-50 new positions per year. So my reports had a
large number of lines with Zeros in every column! Not very useful, and too
much work to manually edit the report within Money.

In 2007, this was fixed.

For many people, this capability was very important. Seems as if you're one
of them.

I complained about it as being broken in 06 because you could select a
series of bills, but it would not total them correctly. I can't remember
the specifics, but I actually got a ticket number on it. I was told an
update was forthcoming, but after a month of waiting I returned 06 for a
refund (my first time ever) and went back to 05. It works in 05.

You guys got the sequence right -- it disappeared in 03, there were
complaints, it was added back in 04 or 05, and then left out in 06. The
first disappearance was deliberate -- or at least known -- the second was
inadvertent.

That's interesting.

I wonder why they broke it in 2006?

I did not advance past 2003 until I was forced to by the expiration of internet
related services, as none of the subsequent releases added any new features in
which I was interested.

But I was pleased to discover that an issue I had reported with 2000 was
finally fixed in 2007 <g> .

This functionality was in 2005 for the record, so if it was missing in 2003
it was added back in, and then broken for 2006.

Don't plan on it being fixed, in 2006 there were even bugs in the single
selection which they fixed in 2007, so they just don't care about the
multiple selection.

This loss of function has been around since Money 2003, possibly longer.
Fixing it likely has a lower priority than does enabling the proliferation of
links to paid services and/or advertising, so it will probably be at least a
few more years before it even gets scheduled to be looked at. By that time,
other useful functions will be disabled, and this particular item will be but a
distant memory.

For a time frame, a problem of similar severity that I first noted in 2000, was
fixed in the 2007 release.

This wasn't left out in 07, but -- inadvertently, I think -- earlier.

They have done this in the past for high severity, pervasive, issues. You'd
get it through Internet Updates. The issue you are raising is probably
considered low severity if it's considered an issue at all. I wouldn't count
on a mid year bug fix update were I you.

Default Is there an update to Money 2007

Does Microsoft release updates to MS Money? One feature I can't believe
they left out on '07 was the ability to select multiple upcoming bills and
see the projected account balance. I heard this is a known problem and they
will perhaps release an update. Any idea how this process works?
