| Time has passed and a dozens of failed attempts but success has been obtained. Thanks you Cal Learner for your input. Didn't hurt but didn't solve the problem. FYI the details: May 1999 Original CD established May 2002 Original CD matured May 2002 New CD established and Original CD principal plus interest transferred into New CD May 2006 New CD matured. Under the name of New CD, MSMoney kept two listings, one of the Original CD name and the other of the New CD name. I was trying to redeem the total of the principal and interest in New CD to Savings. That is when I got the "negative balance" statement. Just now I redeemed the Original CD, the total amount stated as of May 2002. It went, no problems. Then holding my breath, I redeemed the remaining balance of the New CD. It Went! So I have learned even though I transferred the entire total out of the Original CD, MSMoney still felt it belonged to that CD and wanted to redeem them one at a time. I probably will remember this now :-] I discovered this ng sometime after I updated from about 2000 to 2005, If I have discovered it soomer, I probably would have not updated. Thanks for all the info over the years, hopefully this will help someone else. | Upon re reading this I realized in my efforts to be brief, I left out polite as well. Sorry. Thank you for your efforts to help me. I just re-opened my 'test' account, opened the firewall door and allowed it to upgrade. The version now agrees with your number. I then closed the program entirely and then closed the firewall door and opened my real money file. Then I attempted to close the CD and got the exact message as before. Thanks for the suggestion, my version was an earlier one. | WinXP Pro, Original CD matured and renewed under new terms and thus different idenity. It has now matured and I need to spend the money to pay off a loan. The last bit of interest was entered seperately. Then when I hit 'enter' to finish the transaction to redeem it and transfer to a Money Market acct. I get a window that says " Adding this Sell, Remove or Redeem Shares activity will cause the balance of '1740340565' held in this investment account to become negative at some point. Please cancel or revise the transaction". Only action is a button called OK I have tried several different dates, transferring to the accompanying cash account, and to other active accounts even the loan itself, the result is the same. I have also tried leaving a dollar in the cd, adding the last interest in the same transaction, same result This happened to me a couple of years ago and I finally got the mission accomplished, but I cannot remember how :-( Everything is hand entered, firewall has been told not to let Money through.
