One more thing: MEss is to personal finance management as a dry erase marker
is to painting your house. If that's the solution, the problem wasn't worth
solving in the first place.

Boy was that goofy advice. I sure would feel bad if I'd charged for it. I
thought maybe the sample file might actually show such a thing. What was I
thinking?

I actually did install MEss07. (I kinda like that shorthand. I think it just
became my new shorthand for this *thing*.) What a joke. You can only
categorize "cleared" transactions. You can setup an account that does not
have an associated FI or any way to download data. You can even mark a
transaction as cleared. But marked by user as cleared is, apparently, not
the same as downloaded. So once marked cleared by hand, I still couldn't
figure out a way to categorize any of the transactions including the one I
entered. (Actually, it's not a transaction. It says--once you coerce it
to--click here to add a transaction. But you are really adding something it
calls an Adjustment.) The Sample file has all of two "adjustments" in it and
not a one of them is a payment from a checking account to a credit card nor
does one show what a category looks like. Perhaps this is because
Adjustments can't have categories since they are not yet Cleared even though
if they are entered in an account that doesn't download you cannot clear
them? I could have gone back into the help again to figure out how to
balance a non-download account, but I gave up instead.

Of course when I removed MEss07 it broke the file associations for M04. How
handy.

I could go on, but I think I've already said more about MEss07 than it's
worth.

Pathetic.

Maybe.

Nobody here has really used it, but all of the reports seem to suggest such
a capability isn't essential. Deluxe still has it, though.

You might look in the sample file (if Essential has one) and see how they do
it.

Default Microsoft Money Essentials 2007

How do you transfer funds between 2 accounts in Money Essentials?

I had Money 2004 Standard previously and there was an option that allowed
you to transfer funds between two accounts. I don't see that option in Money
2007 Essentials. Can someone help?
