If it is a home gateway, consider setting it to factory > defaults. sort, but Money has a role in communicating with whatever it communicates with using the networking. It's doing something special/different. I have made progress. I just noticed for the first time (after years of using Money), the little "!" in a red triangle. Behind that I found the call summary messages. The error is "An Internet communication error occurred. Please try your call again later (OFXIE12029)". I Googled that error and found http://www.mcse.ms/archive174-2005-6-1677642.html where they blamed temp files in the browser, and down servers. I can't control later so I acted on the former. I launched IE. I hardly ever use IE. I normally use Firefox. IE didn't connect to the Internet, whereas Firefox was working fine, proving that the network was working.I deleted all temporary Internet files, and tried again. IE now works. Money now works! I know with all the problems in Money, they don't need one more bug to fix, but if the error message could have said "I'm sorry, but Money needs Internet Explorer to be working. It doesn't seem to be working. Please fix IE's access to the Internet. Help on doing this is here (and provide a link to Help File)." or something like that. So, the thing Money was doing "special" in this case, is relying in Internet Explorer for Internet access. Again, Thanks! |

Can you get quotes? I did not know you could have the XP firewall running with one connection but not the other. Could you have some other software firewall running when using the home network? Is this a fancy router with a real rules-based firewall, or is it a home gateway with NAT routing? Could you have it set up to block a site? If it is a home gateway, consider setting it to factory defaults. |

Stalls with broadband, but works with G3 wireless "dialup". I've noticed no other apps doing anything funny. Thanks! |

In addition to "strangly", interestingly, when my machine (laptop) is> update. It stalls with each account showing "Update in Progress". Far > as I can tell it's not progressing anything and the message doesn't > disappear. How to get it to "go"? connected to the home network to internet via broadband internet provided by a cable company, the "update in progress" function stalls and far as I can tell does not work. When the very same laptop is connected to internet via a G3 Vodafone card (basically a modem which uses wireless telphony), the "update in progess" is cleared, and the update works fine. Why? Have the XP firewall running with the Vodaphone card, but not with the cable connection (since there is the router firewall behind the cable). |

| Strangely, using Money 2006, in the last few days Money won't do an update. It stalls with each account showing "Update in Progress". Far as I can tell it's not progressing anything and the message doesn't disappear. How to get it to "go"? |
