What is it you did as the new administrative XP user?

You installed Money 2007. Were you able to create a new file? Were
you able to open Sample.mny from the install folder?

I tried the steps you provided however it still gives me the same error.
Money hotline suggested I export from 2003 and import to 2007. This was a
challenge and my accounts seem very wrong balances are off. I also could not
import my stock options any other suggestions on how to simply convert to
2007?

I was successful at taking the 2003 to 2004 - Is it possible to move from
2004 to 2005 and then to 2007?

I’m into this with about 10 man hours and have become very frustrated.

Thanks. I rarely download information. Everything is added by hand, except
stock quotes which I download.

Mark,
If you use Money 2003 and link to the internet to get or
download information I would suggest updating to Money 2007. If you use
Money 2003 strictly on your PC with no linking to the internet to get
information (ie) you manually add any information you need into Money
2003, then I do not think you need to upgrade. JMHO. Good luck. Steve

After reading this post, it makes me wonder if I should make the change
since M03 works fine and serves all my needs. I've been curious about the
need to go to M07.

Would it be worth it to upgrade now, if only to insure I can upgrade in
later years?
Should I be concerned that by staying with M03 there will be a time when I
will not be able to upgrade to M08, M09, M10, etc?
Does Microsoft have a policy about this?

This process had worked for a different install problem, and seems
worth a try in this case:

In IE6, start with
Tools-> Options-> Security-> LocalIntranet-> DefaultLevel which may be
sufficient.

If that does not let you updated, and if you are using XP, I would
try creating a new user with Administrator privilege. Switch to
that user and start Money with a new blank file. Let Money
download the updates as that user.

The theory is that if the problem is an IE6 setting, you will get
default settings for the new user. If you succeed this way, it
would accomplish the download, and it would point toward the reason
the other did not work. You can delete the new user later, and
your regular IE6 settings will not have been changed.

I would suggest checking a couple of things:

1. Verify that your computer's system date is correct.
2. Try Repairing the Money data file
3. Confirm if it is this file specifically. Can you create a "new" Money
2007 data file, or open the Money 2007 "Sample.mny" file?

This was the direction the Microsoft technical support team took me. They
felt that the leap from 2003 was to great and first we should try to move to
2004. The sent me a link to a trial version of 2004. I have used Money for 12
years and realy need to get this working any help would be great.

I had no problem converting from 2003 directly to 2007. Why are you going
through 2004?
