| Just a follow-up on this issue: Read a post later on in this group that suggested the problem might lie with an incompatability with IE7 beta and Money 2007. Yep. That was it. I uninstalled the IE7 Beta 3, rebooted. Ran Money 2007 and let the auto-patch do it's thing (went without a hitch). Reinstalled IE7 and, after another reboot, was back to normal. All is well here now. If your not sure how to do a clean boot or safe mode go to www.microsoft.com and then search the KB for the steps. Hope this helps |

That is the latest version. There is updating of things like tax> haven't been prompted to update 07 -- is there a patch of some sort...? > The version I have is: 16.0.120.621 rates, financial institution for setup, etc, that do not affect the version number. I don't know what the update the Chad discusses does. For Chad, the following has handled some problems in the past and might help in this case. Let us know. In IE6, start with Tools-> Options-> Security-> LocalIntranet-> DefaultLevel which may be sufficient. If that does not let you updated, and if you are using XP, I would try creating a new user with Administrator privilege. Switch to that user and start Money with a new blank file. Let Money download the updates as that user. The theory is that if the problem is an IE6 setting, you will get default settings for the new user. If you succeed this way, it would accomplish the download, and it would point toward the reason the other did not work. You can delete the new user later, and your regular IE6 settings will not have been changed. - quote - > jadedhalo[at]gmail.com wrote: > > Uninstall the IE 7 beta and do the update. | What's the current version...? I upgraded the first day it was out, but haven't been prompted to update 07 -- is there a patch of some sort...? | Uninstall the IE 7 beta and do the update. The crash will stop. | Everytime I start Money 2007 I have a pop up window asking me to update Money and press OK. Which I do, and it closes Money and downloads the update. It then asks if it's ready to install, and that crashes. Then it says 'Microsoft Money Update Utility has caused an error and needs to be restarted.' or whatever that message is. That happens everytime I start Money, and I'd like to update it, because that notification is real annoying. What is wrong ? Is there a way to manually update Money 2007 ? Thanks |
