Fred,
Seems to me that you should continue using your Money 2003
until you can no longer get the information you need. You should have a
source ready to buy the update IF quotes are important to you. If you
buy an update, I would suggest getting it at a store so you have a hard
copy, not a download. My guess as to why they promote Money 2006
instead of Money 2007 is because when the info file was created, Money
2007 didn't exist yet.
I update Money each year. Have done so since 1995. I'm on 2007
now. If it is about the cost, don't spend the $40 this year. Good luck.

Default Odd message from M2003 - is expiration for real?

I just started up my copy of M2003 Deluxe and got a window saying something
about features expiring in 30 days on 9/10/06 and suggesting I upgrade to
M2006. Two things strike me as odd:

1. I've been anticipating loss of online quotes as of 9/1/06 as specified
in the EULA, so I'm a little suprised by the extra 9 days. Is there a grace
period or something? Is this a real threat, or is MS just trying to bully
me into upgrading? Has anyone actually lost ability to download quotes?
(My EULA says the feature expires either on 9/1/06 or 3-years after
activation, whichever is earlier. I didn't start using M2003 until sometime
in Jan'03. Since M2003 probably came out sometime in Aug'02, I'm guessing
someone out there must have bumped up against the 3-year limit by now... -
has anyone using M2003 actually lost their quote-downloading capability or
is MS just bluffing?)

2. Why doesn't MS suggest upgrading to M2007?!? Do they admit that it's a
dog? If I have to upgrade to continue getting quotes, I suppose I will.
But, should I go to M2006 or M2007?

Any thoughts, anyone?
-Fred
