Default Re: Considering the move from Quicken to Money 2007, A Few Questions

Probably the best way for you to find out about M07 is to download and
install the trial and play around with it some. The trial can be found at
http://www.microsoft.com/money.

If you want Money to be the veg-a-matic of personal records organization,
you're probably going to be disappointed. To its credit it has focused less
on this stuff over time than Quicken.

Ditto fancy (read: sophisticated or rigorous) budgeting. M07 adds a new
dumped-down budget and tries to hide the older, more sophisticated attempt
at budgeting--which they also broke in a number of ways. Their direction is
clearly not toward more powerful/advanced budgeting features and I think
that's what you are asking for.

Default Considering the move from Quicken to Money 2007, A Few Questions

A couple questions re: Money 2007:

1. Quicken includes an emergency records organizer that allows a user to
input a variety of information, from medical and personal information on each
family member to details about life and medical insurance to specifics about
all financial accounts. It's a nice summary that can be included with your
will and other important papers. Does Money have this feature? If so, does
it automatically link back to the account information? (i.e., with Quicken,
a user must enter the account specifics in two places: the account set-up and
the emergency records organizer. A BIG waste of time.)

2. For budgeting and forecasting, after setting-up a monthly budget in
January, can you see a report that shows actuals from Jan through April, then
the budget from May through December? Can you compare this view to the
original budget? Will it automatically create a forecast from May through
December based on actuals from Jan - April?

3. Is Money easily imported into TurboTax?

Appreciate the info.
