| But they've also disassociated manual updates to MSN Money having any effect on desktop Money. So using MSN Money on your handheld does not get the data into your desktop at home. Many people were terrified about having their data on the web, for valid reasons. But the choice to do so has been eliminated for those who might have reason to. -- Chris Cowles Gainesville, FL "James E. | If I were still a kid, I think that my response would be for this situation is "smooth move exlax". I have started using Excel Mobile to sort of do the same things that I was doing in Microsoft Money for Windows Mobile. I have a theory about why there is no longer going to be a Microsoft Money for Windows Mobile Client. I think that there were so many problems that they were having with it, that instead of taking the time to fix them, they just did away with it all together. Take inking for example. Instead of making inking work correctly, they just removed it from Word Mobile. They sighted that nobody used the feature anyway as the reason they removed it. I would say that if people did not use that feature, then they just did not know how to use the device. Again I believe that Microsoft wants you to use their MSN Money sight instead of using a Windows Mobile device. I think that they want these devices to go away. At least that is what it looks like to me. | Perhaps the business sense/strategy has to do with return on investment? I.e., there isn't one for doing the PPC development. It doesn't sell anywhere near enough PPCs nor copies of Money to make it worth their while. | I am really puzzle on why is microsoft not supporting money for windows mobile 5 devices? It is still the Microsoft products and it is a very useful tools that alot of money users is using, and I think it is also a good tool to lock-in users to Money. I am really puzzle on what business sense or strategy is Microsoft taking in this aspect. Anyway, I guess I have to look for alternative financial software like quicken now. | If Microsoft is going to no longer make a version of Money for the Pocket PC, then they should be REQUIRED to support Money 2006 INDEFINATELY. I think I need to start calling Microsoft inquiring about a version of Microsoft Money for Windows Mobile 5 until it is released. Otherwise I think that we should all not upgrade again until it is released. | I have read the same MS statement in the Money website. Qutoe: - Money for the Pocket PC will work on versions prior to Win Mobile 5.0 (2005). It does NOT work on Win Mobile 5.0. - Money 2007 will not synchronize with any Pocket PC version. - Money 2006 will synchronize with Money for the Pocket PC if it is running on a version prior to Win Mobile 5.0. UnQuote: On the second point, does that mean that Microsoft is not releasing any update to the Money for Pocket PC that support the Windows Mobile 5 device, or does it only mean that currently Money 2007 is not able to sync with existing available Pocket Money edition? Can someone from Microsoft Money team please clarify this issue? It would be rendered Money 2007 almost useless to me if the pocket pc version is not available, as I used to enter the transactions on the move. If that is really the case, I would have to look for alternative solution and that would be a painful step to go. Cheers! "Bob Peel, MVP" wrote: - quote - > According to Microsoft "never".
