As I described, however, this is not the way it reads the balance from my banks. Both Wells Fargo and Washington Mutual were reporting a balance (in Money) I owed as a negative number - ($10), for instance. What I ended up doing to fix this: converted each account to use the essential register. Now both the bank balance and the transactions are using the same sign. Thanks! |

What you may have done is to enter a starting balance for the credit> If I make a $20 payment, Money would report my balance as ($30) while my bank > would report $10. card account as a negative number. Go to the account settings, and change that to a positive number if you initially owed money to the credit card company. |

| I am using Money 2005 and it reports credits to my credit card accounts as negative balance transactions. For instance, if I have a balance in Money of $10 and I make a $20 payment, my balance in Money is ($10). Though this is opposite of how I would imagine it working, it would be fine i my banks weren't reporting a balance owed as a negative number. Using the example above, my bank would report ($10) as my starting balance. If I make a $20 payment, Money would report my balance as ($30) while my bank would report $10. |
