Because you had a removable drive set up, it must be valid at the time
you're saving the settings.

The number of backups to keep for a hard drive is what I was attempting to
change, not the USB flash drive. The error message appeared even though I
was only changing settings for the daily backup to the hard drive. After I
plugged in the flash drive, I was able to make the setting change.
I do backup to the flash drive also every 14 days just for extra backup so
that can be disconnected from the computer and stored elsewhere.
Anyhow, things are good now.
Thanks,

Unfortunately Money 2007, like Money 2006, does not honor the
setting for a USB flash drive that is classed as a removable drive.
You will still have to manually delete the oldest to make room. The
number of backups to keep for a hard drive is honored. I suggest
increasing that number, assuming you have a lot of hard drive space
to spare.

Thanks for your reply Chris,

I did not have my USB drive plugged in at the time. I plugged it in and was
able to make the change in the number of backups to keep.
Even though the change that I was making was for backups kept on my hard
drive, it seems that one must plug in the USB drive also.

Thanks again,
John

Is the backup path a removable drive? If so, plug in the drive to make the
change. You don't have to actually back up at that time, but the path must
exist when you're updating the parameters.

Also, when you plug it in, it has to map to the same path. Different USB
ports or different USB drives may map to different drive letters.

Default M07 error message?

When making a change in the backup settings, I select "OK" and then receive
the following error message:

"The path name is invalid. Please use a valid path name."

I am not changing the path, just the number of backups to keep.
How can I make a change without this error?
Thanks,
John
