The US version of Money 2001 should have been able to install on a
UK computer running XP. By "set up files" I assume you mean your
Money 2001 install disk. However Money 2001 Canadian and 2001 US
standard were the same disk. If computer had the regional settings
set up for Canada, Money 2001 would work in Canadian mode. If US,
then US. I am not sure what would happen if it were set for UK.

If you actually want to start fresh, you may not want to put your
older personal files (*.mny) onto the new computer when you install
your Money 2005 UK that you ordered.

Be aware there is a microsoft.public.uk.money group.

Because Money is heavily regionalised you can't read a US version's .mny
file in a UK program.

Only way is, with the originating version installed, export all accounts one
at a time to QIF files and then import all at once (use CTRL + Click to
select) to the new version. But beware you lose a lot in this process.

See http://money.mvps.org/faq/article/28.aspx and scroll down to the notes
which tell you about the losses.

NB the latest UK version is M2005. Anything later is US.

I did not realize that my subject was too long for anyone to read so thought
I'd better add it here so you all know what I'm talking about. The US
Version of Money 2001 is what I'm trying to set up on my UK Computer.

Default Unable to set up US Version of Money 2001 in UK

I have moved to the UK and brought my set up files along with my personal
files to set up on my new computer in order to reconcile all my credit cards
and banks before I close the accounts (I'm Canadian but was apparently using
a US version). Unfortunately, when I opened the file nothing looks normal.
I have been unable to set it up on my UK computer. I have ordered the latest
UK version which has not yet arrived but I wish to keep my old life separate
from my new life and certainly don't want to be converting Canadian money
into pounds. Can anyone help me? Is it possible that the important "setup"
file is not useable here? I can't even find it in the same form that it was
when I copied it onto my disc.
