| After many occurrences of this double pop up, I tried that Cal suggestion and clicked "order". Since only choices were dismiss and remind later, both of which did just that the next time I logged in. Once I got the order screen up in my default browser (which is not IE) I exited the browser, clicked dismiss on both pop ups and have never seen any additional popups. | Hi Kent, I upgraded and have not regretted it. Some things I noticed: 1) Shutdown is faster and there are no hangs. Watching it through the task manager, it terminates fairly quickly after leaving Money. 2) Online updates appear faster - it used to be that right after initiating updates, Money would churn for a while before actually initiating any network connections. Same for sending an Epay. Not too long, mind you, but just enough to be annoying. It now almost immediately sends the data out. 3) I have not seen some anomolies I had with M06... the biggest anoyance was that once a week or so, transactions would only match in the future, all past transactions would not be available to match. I would run a quick repair and it would fix it, but it was annoying. 4) Investment accounts that don't have real transactions but just change value because of changes in share prices will no longer show up as having change. It was annoying to always be told that there were new transactions when there weren't any. 5) Tax estimator appears to be the most accurate from past years - not sure why but for me that is true. 6) No serious bugs so far - the only new bug I know of is that loan payments entered into the register manually from the Bills Summary page have a problem with the Account field. That doesn't affect me, however, because my loan payments are online payments which don't have this problem. I've done bill payments, online updates, etc. for about a week now with no apparent problem. I also have a computer running Money 2006 that does not have Money> have Tools> Settings> ProgramSettings> TurnOffSponsorshipsAndShoppingLinks > ticked, I get this pop up most of the time I start Money 2006. 2007 installed on it. I don't get the pop-ups. Perhaps I have some IE6 setting set tighter. For example, I have IE6 Tools-> InternetOptions-> Advanced-> PlayAnnimations cleared. Now I doubt that is the setting that matters here. However I also know that tightening IE6 too much can have a negative effect on Money. - quote - > Once I got

It really is annoying. by clicking into the pop-up ad-- as much as it seems objectionable to ever click into a pop-up ad. Then say no thereafter. Just guessing based on what I seem to remember from some earlier stuff. |

| Cal, You must have upgraded so you don't know what is happening. Even though I have Tools> Settings> ProgramSettings> TurnOffSponsorshipsAndShoppingLinks ticked, I get this pop up most of the time I start Money 2006. Once I got two pop-ups, one on top of each other, so that even when I clicked on Dismiss This on the visible one , there was another pop-up under the window that closed. It really is annoying. -- Peace, BobJ "Cal Learner-- MVP" <via_newsgroup[at]please.tnx> wrote in message news:lqofc2hrrqun9baoj1ua8b52mh7u22bl7f[at]4ax.com... - quote - > In microsoft.public.money, KenL wrote: > > What am I missing? | What am I missing? No matter what I tell Money 2006 it displays the sales pitch window for Money 2007 everytime I start the program. Is there any way, short of buying Money 2007, to stop this annoying window from displaying every time I load Money 2006? I'm reasonably happy with Money 2006. After some previous very bad experiences with new versions of Money I want to wait until people are saying good things before I pay my yearly dues to Microsoft and commit to upgrading yet again. |
