After less than an hour from purchase, I will also be returning Money 2007
(H&B) and getting my $90 bucks back. I originally chose money because i
could syncwith my PPC. Withoput that functionality, I have no reason to
continue using it.

~Looks like its time to write something better!~

I'll let y'all know when it comes around...

Funny. I just bought the upgrade to Money 2007 Premium, and on the CD there
is this web page:
D:\MONEY\PPCINFO.HTM

It says you can download 2007 Money for Win Mobile from the Money Downloads
and Add-Ons website.

They must have killed the mobile version after the packaged version went
out. I'd like to think they decided to let the little guy make a few bucks.
But it's more likely the future is somewhere else, like wireless. Or, maybe
it was just another security hole. (And that there's more profit potential in
Zune than win mobile.)

Anyway, it's back to PocketMoney (by catamount, from Handmark) or maybe one
of the others mentioned here ( sbp, ultrasoft?) but really wish I had stayed
with Quicken back in 2004. Kinda reminds me of when I installed Plus! Sync &
Go from the Plus! package for Win XP...

Here's what it says on the CD:

Start using Money for Windows Mobile devices!
Money for Windows Mobile devices will help you track your expenses, monitor
your investments, and take control of your finances from anywhere! When you
use Money 2007 and Money for Windows Mobile devices together, you can:

Synchronize your accounts to make managing easier.
Money for Windows Mobile devices synchronizes information with your desktop
computer and Money 2007, and shows your balances conveniently on the Today
screen.

Update your investment portfolio on the fly.
See up-to-date quotes on Money for Windows Mobile devices by synchronizing
with Money 2007 on your desktop or by downloading directly from the Internet.

Complete financial tasks quickly and easily.
The Money Toolbar appears along the bottom of the screen to help you more
quickly and easily navigate between tasks in Money for Windows Mobile
devices.

Manage your finances wherever you go.
Learn more from the Money for Windows Mobile devices section of the
Downloads and Add-Ons website.

Install Money for Windows Mobile devices now!
1. Go to the Microsoft Money Downloads and Add-Ons website
2. Locate the section on Money for Windows Mobile devices, and click the
link to download the latest version.
3. Follow the installation instructions on the screen to install Money for
Windows Mobile devices.

Note: Money for Windows Mobile devices requires the Pocket PC 2002 or Pocket
PC 2003 operating system. If you’re running an earlier version, you must
upgrade in order to use Money for Windows Mobile devices.

Hey guys, maybe now we should contemplate Quicken.

http://www.pocketquicken.com/ppc/overview/index.html

It's more expensive but I'm sure it works. Chuck, thanks for your post. I
agree with it completely and am dumbfounded by this move by Microsoft. I
thought they wanted to take over, why stop offering something its competitor
offers.

For what it's worth, although I've read that MS Money 2006 will not run on a
PocketPC running Mobile Version 5.0, I am running MS Money 2006 on my desktop
computer and sync it to MS Money PocketPC 2006, which I'm running on an HP
iPAQ which is running (and I quote as I read it from my PPC) "Microsoft
Windows Mobile Version 5.0 OS 5.1.1702 (Build 14366.1.0.0)." The mobile
version of Money is buggy (i.e., you cannot delete a transaction once you've
entered it except by syncing and then deleting it from the desktop version*),
but, hey, it's Microsoft. Honestly, I'm glad they're not coming out with a
2007 version for PPC. They stopped trying a long time ago with this software
and have moved on; now the rest of us can.

*On previous versions, you would tap and delete. On current version, tapping
just opens up the transaction. If anyone knows a fix for this, please let me
know.

P.S. It states below, "By clicking I Accept, you are agreeing to the Terms
of Use. Also, by offering comments and/or materials through this page you
give Microsoft full permission to use them freely to improve our products.

Due to the volume and variety of suggestions, we can't provide compensation

comments to improve their products...if only....

A similar feature is there for the Money client also.

Do you really sync *ALL* of your transactions? I only sync a few
accounts and only the last 3 months worth of data. I look at my
handheld as a mechanism of getting some extra data into my main
money file (in my case my cash spending). I don't look at it as
a way of tracking everything.

I don't use a Pocket PC, I have a Palm based Treo. So I use
Ultrasoft Money for sync. But I would think that a similar feature
exists in the PPC money sync options. Why wouldn't you use that?

You might try "SPB Finance" (just plug this into google search bar). It
supposedly synch's with Money 2007 (and below I presume). I've tried it
however, and the problem I run into is that I have 12 years of transactions,
and my Pocket PC "chokes" when it tries to synch 44,000 transactions. (This
is even when SPB Finance is installed on my memory card). Don't suggest
"archiving" Money...that only corrupts your working file! For those with
only a few years' data, this program might work well...but BACKUP before you
try!

My PPC phone was working with MS Money and now it doesn't. I've been using MS
Money from the time they were giving it away just to beat up on the "other"
money program. Every thing was fine in my world as long as I was using my
Palm but made a mistake of thinking I could siplify my life and go totaly
with Microsoft. These guys are killing me!
Jim, I couldn't agree with you more.
Based on all of this, MSMoney 2007 isn't in my future, of that you can be
sure.

I jump out there and bought Money 2007 not knowing it would not update my
pocket pc. I will uninstall it now and go back to 2006 version. Being a big
Microsft software and hardware supporter I am very dis-appointed with their
decision not to support Pocket Money. I'm glad I read tthis post before I
pgraded my pocket pc to WM5. I will be more careful and do more research
before I buy any future Microsoft products or their recommendations of
hardware. I will be sharing this caution with my company to be cautious in

Thanks Carl that page will be helpful in asking for my refund. I find it
humorous that the page starts with the phrase: "Take Money With You" and
then proceeds to tell you why you can't anymore.

Wow!! I just upgraded to Money 2007 and didn't realize that they were
actually taking away features. PocketPC support is half the reason I buy
Money. I travel a lot and when I am on the road Money for the Pocket PC is
indispensable. I use it to keep track of expenses as they happen. If I had
known this was not available I would not have purchased it.

Where is the info that there will be no Money 2007 PPC coming from? I would
like to site it when I ask for my refund.

I think when a major feature like this gets removed then Microsoft should
display it prominently in the "What's New" section of the product.

I *was* going to buy the upgrade until I saw on MS' site that
a.. Money for the Pocket PC will work on versions prior to Win Mobile 5.0
(2005). It does NOT work on Win Mobile 5.0.
a.. Money 2007 will not synchronize with any Pocket PC version.

so... what do people suggest as a replacement for MS Money now?

I'm hoping that it comes out late, but saw some info suggesting that it will
