It never even asked me.

Once again, the question comes down to either or not you want to download
transaction data from some FI that can only be accessed via the third party.

What about upgrading a previous Money datafile to 2007? Can I decline doing
that as well?

Account transaction data downloads that must come via a "third party"--i.e.,
your bank does not support direct connection.

if you dont have to do it what are the "updates that will not be possible" it
refers to when you decline?

Did you purchase the license online or something? The Passport was the
vehicle to getting the download to activate in previous versions. But you
only needed it long enough to do that and you needed it to buy it online in
the first place. Apparently the M07 online order fulfillment process has
changed.

It is certainly possible, as indicated elsewhere, to use M07 to create a new
file without a Passport.

Hmm. I can't get past the part during the install that requires me to enter
my Windows Live account/password. I tried a fictitious account, and it
checked and came back saying the account was invalid. Do I have to create a
real account, enter the information, and then "decline" afterwards just to
install?

The trick is, when you create the file, select Decline.

Incorrect -- just as with 2006, you can use Money 2007 without having or
using a Passport account. That's what I and many others did and still do.

Default Money 2007 REQUIRES Windows Live integration?

Hello all,

Browsed the group without finding a definitive answer. I'd like to give
Money 2007 a test drive, but I don't have, nor will ever use, a Windows Live
(aka Passport) account (for numerous reasons I won't go into here).

It appears I can't even install the product without a Windows Live account.
Is there no work around for this? If it is required, then I'll be forced to
pass on Money 2007.

TIA...
