Apparently it is a bug according to MS. They are trying to fix it in 07,
fact is if the 06 program is buggy, then they should offer a free upgrade to
07.
Almost shows some appreciation for buying legal software, and registering
it.

06 will only give you the balance if you select a bill that is being paid
through MSN Bill pay, at least it does for me. But if I select (even a
single bill) that is a direct debit then I don't get the balance info.

I've gone back to 04 because of this feature missing. Luckily I only paid
20 bucks for 06 so I'm not too unhappy.

I agree on the documentation comment, I only mention it because it coupled
with the bug like functionality of the grid makes things look more like a bug
than a conscious decision of removing the feature.

Evidently in M07 you can select a single bill and see it's affect, but the
grid doesn't allow you to select multiple bills. What a pointless removal of
a much used feature. So much for buying 2007, I guess I'll stick with 2005
until I find another application...

It's possible. You can check in M07 today, apparently.

I wouldn't infer from documentation that the feature is supposed to be
there. They have a long track record of struggling to keep the docs in sync
with the shipping code.

Is there a place on MS Money's site to report bugs?

Dick:

I don't necessarily agree that this was purposefully removed by MS. If you
click in the empty row portion of the bills grid it will select the last bill
in the list and give the numbers that it used to. So it seems more like a
bug to me. In addition to that, it's still in their documentation if I
remember correctly.

This is the only reason that I have not purchased 2006 and will stay with
2005 until it's "fixed", or switch applications.

Has anyone called Microsoft with the angle that it shows if you select these
empty rows but not a valid bill?

Thanks,

Ed Simmons

Ain't MSFT wonderful. While I cannot comment on your specific complaint
since I am still using Money 2002, your complaint is the main reason why I
never switched to a newer version. Every year I download the new Money
trial and use it for a few weeks. Every year since 2002, the program gets
worse in my opinion. Features I like are gone or moved, stuff I don't like
is inserted. Luckily M2002 does everything I need very well.

Default Bills summery/show deducted amt/v2006

In my previous versions of Money, in the bills summeray, at the bottom. It
use to show how much was in that account, and what the balance would be
after that amount was deducted. Now there is nothing at the bottom (other
than the calender if you want it)
Now if I enter something from Bills summery, I have to go back to the
checking acct. to see the balance
