Default Re: Workaround for reusing deleted investment name

I made another error. Mny06 does permit a new downloaded investment
to have its name changed ... before it is accepted. MS totally hates
"Delete" and that goes double for its operating system.

Sorry, my error ... the extra blank is not deleted but is removed for
display on some screens.

Default Workaround for reusing deleted investment name

LEAPS are forward January expiring options. The near forward year
(Jan 2007) options are assigned new tickers in the summer. Having one
of these to auto update I decided to accept the change as a new
addition with the intention of deleting the original. After deleting
and removing the old entry via the Portfolio Manager, I wanted to
rename the new to the old deleted name ... which is a slight variation
on the name, eg I like Jan07 better than the generated Jan 2007 since
my name is more search friendly and matches my convention which is to
modify the generated month to include the year for uniqueness.

No, No. No, says MS Money 2006, you can not reuse a deleted investment
(option) name! Damn says I. Well knowing how stupid MS Money
programmers are I decided to try a little sneaky trick. I simply
added an extra blank space to the name between the 2007 and the Put
words. It worked. Stupid program did not think that "Jan07 Put" and
"Jan07 Put" are the same. Not only that, but it (they) also later
deleted that extra space.

Downloaded investments do not tolerate any human changes. So one must
deal with customizing simple things as workaround solutions.
