Thanks Cal,

My original files were all on the original Harddrive which was apparently
undamaged.

One more thing: for each account, make sure the register View is set
to AllTransactions.

And especially if the original try was using a CDR, my next try
would be using a USB flash drive.

It's possible. No easy way to tell. KEEP A COPY. Then try the file repair
utilities under File menu. I'd be thinking really hard about how to get the
files off the old disk again.

Hi Dick,

I never go online for my Money usage.

And yes the sample file looks OK.

Could my file be corrupted? To not read past the first entry. How would I
know and how could I fix it? Again this affects all the backup files too.

Well, if you are using the exact same version of Money and the exact same
data file, then all that's left is things like are you using Essential or
Advanced register? Does the sample file look right in the new version?

Beyond that, one or the other of us is missing something or there is some
new factor in play with M06 that I don't know about/hasn't been reported
here. I've moved my Money file across four or five different computers now
and 14 versions and have not seen the issue you describe.

Hello Dick Watson,

I was and am using the exact same installation disk of MS Money 2006 Deluxe,
Version 15.0.120.513.

Not only do I know the data file (.MNY) I know the backups too (.MBF). No
matter which one I look at / restore (with Money), I get the same thing: all
accounts but one are zero balance and the one with a non-zero is very
abbreviated. Nonetheless, the size of these files suggests that the data is
still there.

My old PC died, but I can read the harddrive as an external drive to my new
PC.

David

I await your reply with eagerness.

What version WERE you using? Do you KNOW which data file you were using on
the old machine? Do you still have the old machine? Can you still open the
old data file? Do you still see what you expect to see in it?

Default MS Money 2006 Deluxe and a new PC

OK, so I installed Money 2006 on my new PC, and I copied my .MNY and .MBF
files to my new PC. So now when I open the files most of my accounts are
blank!!!!

I'm sure it is my fault, of course, but what do I do to fix this? Hundreds
of hours are invested in these files.
