| Thanks for the help everyone! By themselves, none of the suggestions fixed the problem because it was in an investment account rather than a bank account, but your suggestions did put me onto a solution that worked. Here it is: * I isolated the investment account that was causing the problem by closing each investment account until I found the one that made the problem go away when I closed it. * Exported all transactions from that account. * Deleted the problem account. * Re-Imported the transactions. That fixed it. "hurban[at]gmail_sp_a_m.com" wrote: - quote - > I recall finding this when it occured on my data. I ended up down at > Method 3. I could not see the extra transactions in the account within Money.> To delete a transaction, right-click the transaction, click Delete, and then click Yes. I think I then just generated the QIF file, looked at it to see what the extra transactions were, then found them in the Categories section and voided them since I could not delete them. I am curious how this turns out for John. |

| I had this happen twice now in Money 2004. Someone may know of a better way to do this. I recall finding something on the MS sight that listed a solution for this. Here is what I recall doing. First, see if Last Paid date of any of your Bills and Deposits have a last paid date in the future from 7/4. If so, you may have the same problem as I had. It seems there are transactions in your account that are not visible because they are in a future date. In order to see the transactions, export your transactions to a QIF file. If you are technically savvy, you should be able to open the file in notepad or even word to view them. Scroll until you find the account that has the problems. At the bottom of the list you will see transactions from your Bills and Deposits that were executed in with a future date. Now that you know the transactions, visit a category they were allocated to. You will then see the offending transaction with the future date. The only thing I could figure to do was edit the transaction and mark it as void so it has a zero amount. It is a bit tedious if you have many to fix. You also then have to edit any recurring bills to their correct date to be paid next. | Help Request: The balances in two views of my investments disagree. One view is Account List sorted by Account Type; the other is Portfolio View. Both list the same balances for each of the accounts but the total in the Portfolion view is much higher (and unfortunately incorrect) than the view in the Account List (which is correct). I've done both a Level 1 and Level 2 file repair but it hasn't helped. Anyone with a similar problem? Anyone with a solution? Please email me at john.hidley[at]sbcglobal.net. My email here is obsolete. Thanks. |
