When you are in the portfolio manager, on left side click on "work with
investments" then"choose a specific investment". The check to see if both
names for the fund that you download transactions for are listed. If they
are both listed, then first change all of the investments in the wrong name
to the right name (manually by each transaction) and the eliminate the name
that you do not want.

It is a known oddity with Fidelity. They make a fake "CUSIP" for the
Fidelity funds that are held in the 401Ks. Sit tight for now letting
them be separate investments. Let's hope this gets addressed soon.

I do not see the screens you state. when i click on "view downloaded
statements" and click on the the fund custodian which contains the unread
items, it asks me to update the positions manually or let Money do it for me.

Is this in a 401-K where Fidelity is the custodian?

Mike,

After the download is completed and you click on the items in the account
list, you will should get a screen which says is this a new security or is
it the same as one you already have. If you don't get that screen then you
must have both the name you want it called and the name of the investment as
downloaded in the security list. You would then have to delete one of the
investments from the security list.

Default Investment names vs. preferred names

You can set preferred names for payees, but in my portfolio, I'd like to name
the investments with the real name and not the abbreviated name. Example,
Fidelity has "Fidelity Low-Priced Stock" and that's the name I want to use
but when I download the transactions, it comes down as "Fidelity Low Pr Stk"
so I do not get any matches. I even changed the symbol "FLPSX" to be the
symbol for the investment I want. How can I make them match?
