Default Re: USING MS MONEY TO TRACK EBAY

One alternative would be to set up a cash account for these
transactions, particularly if you are using PayPal. For details, see
http://financialsoft.about.com/od/qu...shAccounts.htm

I like to treat PayPal as a separate account since I usually keep a
balance there from auction sales, and sometimes I do a lot of selling
in a short period of time and it's just cleaner for me to have PayPal
in a cash account.

Best of luck to you with your Ebay selling!

Shelley

Sure. Treat it like a checkbook. A purchase is a check, a sale is a
deposit. If you use Paypal, all your transactions there are already in
a similar format.

My use of MS Money is to track advertising coop for about 50
manufacturers. I enter the annual commitment or accrual as an initial
(or incremental) deposit. Each claim is treated as a check written
against the available funds. Once payment is received I mark the
transaction as reconciled and enter the doc number.

I also manage advertising ledgers for about 100 retail stores. For this
I use another database. With 100 accounts and 3 automatic (bill)
transactions per month per account, it's running very slowly.
