| I am sure that would fix the "problem" as I have described it... However, I am not interested in changing the way I conduct my finances. I just want to see if I can make MS Money conform to my way of doing things. - quote - > <Flyin'8[at]here.com> wrote in message

| I added a recurring transfer and that seems to fix that issue, but now another issue is created... I do not have a regular schedule for paying off the credit card... I may pay it off this week, and then wait 3 weeks to pay it again. Other times I may pay it off on a Monday, then again on a Friday. I guess what I am getting at is: Is there a way to create a recurring bill/transfer which is not on a set schedule? If not, how can I accomplish my objective of having a correct cash flow graph which takes into account my payoffs on the credit card at irregular intervals? | You would need to match them either against the bills/deposits entry, or enter the bills/deposits entry into the account register first as an estimate, and then match the transaction downloaded against the bills/deposits one. -- Glyn Simpson, Microsoft MVP - Money http://money.mvps.org See http://money.mvps.org/faq/default.aspx for tips and fixes for MS Money. | Almost all of my entries are downloaded... I then go into each one and assign a catagory. How would I modify the way I am doing things to allow Money to accurately estimate the bills? I have several bills set up in the Bill section but it seems that is still will not properly estimate the transactions. | The calculation is based on entries which appear in the bills history - ie. those which have been entered through the bills/deposits place. Do you have any entries in the history which it can use, or are the payments you usually make entered through the account register manually (or downloaded)? -- Glyn Simpson, Microsoft MVP - Money http://money.mvps.org See http://money.mvps.org/faq/default.aspx for tips and fixes for MS Money. | I was looking at my cash flow in MS Money 2006 and noticed that the credit card I use for day to day purchases has an ever increasing balance. This is incorrect becaue I pay it off every couple of weeks. In an attempt to fix this, I created a recurring transaction to transfer from checking to credit card. This is fine, except the balance varies from week to week. For the transaction I selected "Estimate based up last 6 payments" When I go back into my upcoming bills it shows this upcoming transaction as ~$0.00 If I set the transaction amount to a fixed dollar number, the cashflow graph looks right. I would rather have an estimated amount that can vary based upon my spending habits without having to manually change it. It seems it should have calculated this # based upon the last 6 credit card payments. Rather than put a fixed amount, how can I make MS Money 2006 use the estimate like I want? Mike Flyin' 8 |
