| 1. To assign categories, I click on the item to be reconciled, which opens up the categories selection drop box and I make my selection there. 2. Advanced 3. Yes, in the register 4. When I look at the chart there is a large section labeled "Unassigned." I click on the slice and it brings up all the transactions that have lately gone into my accounts, downloaded online, that I just went through the process of assigning categories to in the actual registers. 5. Reports also reflect a large amount of unassigned transactions, similar to how the home page pie chart does. | Some questions: 1) When you say "reconcile downloaded transactions" do you mean Modify / Accept? 2) Are you using Advanced Register (Good!) or Essential Register (Bad...)? 3) If you examine the transactions in the Registers after you have modified/accepted them, do they have the categories you expect? 4) When you say you look at the "spending by category" chart and most of your transactions will have no category, are you saying that you do not see spending you expect in the chart and then separately go to the registers and examine transactions and find categories you think were there now missing? 5) Have you looked at any reports directly (many of the home page charts reflect what stuff from the pre-defined reports) to cross-check what you are seeing on the home page? | I am using Money 2006. For the past few months, I have been having to re-enter categories. When I reconcile downloaded transactions, I will assign categories within my different accounts. However, when I look at the home page "spending by category" chart, most of the transactions will have no category there and I have to re-enter it. I have tried repairing the file. Any ideas? |
