| This way will NOT work. You need to disable online function and follow the instructions from one of the above posts "Colin H Tomlinson" wrote: - quote - > If your new and old accounts are already set up, > Rename the account you DON'T want to keep, something like 'A/X - old'. | If your new and old accounts are already set up, Rename the account you DON'T want to keep, something like 'A/X - old'. Then merge the accounts, by merging 'A/X - old' into 'A/X'. Then 'A/X' - old is no more and all the transactions are in the ONE account, called 'A/X'. Assuming you are using the merge function in Money 2006/7, you will> Do you bring up the Account that you want to keep & then choose from the > list the one you want to merge with or visa versa? not have that choice. You can only merge a non-online with an online account. To do what I think you want to do, I would disable the old account for online access in Money. I would then change the credentials of the old account to those of the new account. Set up that account for online access. After you fetch transactions for the revised credentials, I expect there to be a new (minutes old) online account which you will merge with the existing account. Expect a warning about losing old transactions. Merge anyway. Again, keep backups in case you do not like a result, but I predict success for you. |

| Before I do the merge I need to know which account merges into which Account. Do you bring up the Account that you want to keep & then choose from the list the one you want to merge with or visa versa? -- Barry www.beamalarm.com "Cal Learner-- MVP" wrote: - quote - > In microsoft.public.money, beamone wrote: > > I had to replace My A/X card & now I have 2 A/X Accounts set up. > > I want to merge the old into the new Account. > > But When I try to merge it does not tell me which one is merging into which > > one. > > I dont want to merge the new into the old number. > > I want to merge all the old activity into the new Account number. > Keep an extra copy of your file or backup. Keep an extra copy of your file or backup. Do the merge. | I had to replace My A/X card & now I have 2 A/X Accounts set up. I want to merge the old into the new Account. But When I try to merge it does not tell me which one is merging into which one. I dont want to merge the new into the old number. I want to merge all the old activity into the new Account number. -- Barry www.beamalarm.com |
