| I guess my point still stands: you have a choice to not synch with MSN. I've survived just fine with Money for over a decade and have never synced with MSN. | Well, here's the thing. In order to sync with MS Money, you need Passport. Passport logon worked 2 weeks ago, now it doesn't. Passport works fine with other MSN sites, hotmail, etc. Why not Money 2004? I've tried removing all of the cookies and temp files as suggested in MS Support - no change. | I'm glad to know I'm not alone. I've been using Money for several years with little or no problems till now and suddenly, with no apparent reason, it tells me me sign in info is wrong. So far, the only way I've got around it, is to uninstall and reinstall Money, then restore my backup data. Everything is OK till I shut down the computer. The next time I boot up and try to open Money, it's the same thing all over again. I think next year I might try Quicken !!!! I'll let you know if I find the answer. | Al, I've had this happen a few times and freaked out, but in every case in turned out to be Microsoft doing network maintenance (and not bothering to tell anyone about it). In a day or two, you should be able to get back in. Next time you have a problem, visit http://moneycentral.msn.com/common/networkstatus.asp to see if it's just something going on with the network. | I get this from time to time but always when I've had to sign into some Passport-enabled site with a Passport account other than the one linked to my MS Money file. You can try a couple of things that have worked for me: One would be to (with all of your programs closed), clear your temporary internet files and cookies in Internet Explorer. The second, which probably isn't the case for you, would be to open any Passport-enabled website and click the "Sign out" button/link that typically appears at the top. Then, close Internet Explorer and try logging into MS Money again. -- John "Al Perry" <aperryreg[at]shaw.REMOVETHIS.ca> wrote in message news Z%jg.24865$iF6.2311[at]pd7tw2no...- quote - > Hi > I have suddenly been locked out of my MS money account. I suspect to have changed "it" was the wrong thing to do. When you> PASSPORT password is wrong. I know it isn't, but have changed it anyway and > am still locked out. I can't access my backup either, also being told my > passport is wrong. Any suggestions? say you changed "it", what did you mean? Are you saying you changed the password on that same Passport? Are you saying you deleted the old Passport, or what? Don't overwrite your backups. I am not sure what the right thing to do is. I would think it would be to sit tight, or to contact Microsoft support. Perhaps there is some temporary problem. But overwriting your backups or deleting your Passport are not things you want to do. |

| Hi I have suddenly been locked out of my MS money account. I am told that my PASSPORT password is wrong. I know it isn't, but have changed it anyway and am still locked out. I can't access my backup either, also being told my passport is wrong. Any suggestions? Thanks, Al |
