Default RE: Mortgage and checking

Roger,

Have you set your monthly mortgage payment up under Bills and setup the bill
as a "Loan Payment: my mortgage" category? If this is setup right, then the
transaction coming into your checking account should match up to the bill and
everything will be as it should. I've had mine setup this way and it works
great.

If this doesn't work and you have the bills setup to automatically enter
into your checking account, then you can click "Change" instead of "Accept"
when you are reviewing the imported transaction and then you will have the
option to associate the imported record with an existing account entry. This
is using Money 2006. I'm not sure which version this ability first came
available.

Good luck,

Ian

If you are referring to a non-investment downloaded transaction,
click the "Change" button. Do not Accept button until the match is
made.

The true believers in downloaded transactions will have to pipe in here.
Personally, I just enter the transactions by hand and save all of this
hassle.

Is there any way, while editing a transaction, to ask Money to look for a
matching transaction? How do I "help it to figure out"?

See thread from earlier today "Working with automatic sweeps" or any of
dozens of others. Transaction Matching--get Money to do it or help it figure
it out.

Default Mortgage and checking

I set up a mortgage account and Money seems to automatically enter payments
according to the terms. That is fine but the payments actually come
automatically from my checking account. If I edit these payments to be loan
payment to my loan Money adds in another payment. AARRGGGGG.

What do I have to do... pretend that the checking entries are not loan
payments??
