Banking-> AccountTools-> Categories&Payees-> Payees-> GoToPayeeRulesManager Your downloaded transactions may come with some generic term where the Payee should be. Excluded Payee Names identifies words and phrases that should be ignored from the payee field (e.g., check, deposit, purchase). Add words that are generically added by your bank. Set Tools-> Settings-> OnlineServices-> ShowStandardizedPayeeNames to combine payees that differ only by a number at the end. This may work better after you have combined payees from previous downloads. However if that is all Money has, it will leave you with nothing to distinguish transactions. I suggest you set Tools-> Settings-> OnlineServices-> AddADescriptionToTheMemoField to aid you in selecting a Payee. |

| RE: How do I automatically assign a category to a specific payee? It should do this automatically once you enter it manually a time or two. If it's a reoccuring bill, set it up in the Bills sections where you can explicitly tell it the categories for that transaction.
