See Customize-> Fonts-> ReportColumnWidths drop-down list.

Custom column size follows the spacing from adjusting the column
widths by clicking the borders between column headings and moving
the mouse left or right.

So I would try different fonts, font size, and select Custom.

Then save the report again.

Cal - thanks for the prompt reply - I appreciate it.

Your sequence is basically what I've been trying. It doesn't seem to save
the column widths. Can you think of anything else I could try?

Thanks,
Ian

This can be done for the regular Reports, but not for the home page.

Go to Reports and select the report you want to start with.

Click Customize on the left, and make any customizations, and click
OK.

To make this modified version easily accessible in the future,
right-click into the report and choose AddToFavorites. Enter a
descriptive name, OK.

Near the top, click Favorites-> FavoriteReports. Select your new
Favorite report.

Default Report Formats

Simple (hopefulyy not a RTFM) question...is there a way to get Money to
retain a report format? I can create a favorite report with formatting that
allows for all the data to be seen on 1 screen. However, once I exit or
update the report and then return to it, the saved formatting is lost and the
data is spread out over mutliple screens. I've tried reformatting and
resaving, recreating and resaving, but it still loses the format.

Many thanks in advance for any ideas...Ian
