| Susan; Based on your post, I took another look. Having 'tax deferred' was the trigger that kept it out of the budget. Thx - You rock! | From the Home Page, I click on Budget On the screen that appears, I select "Change budget settings." In Budget Settings, "Select Budget Accounts." In "Select accounts to include in budget and favorite categories," I see every account I have ever set up in Money, including "American Ce Brokerage/Inv (Cash), "Fidelity In Brokerage/Inv (Cash)," "Merrill Lyn Brokerage/Inv (Cash)," and "T. Rowe Pri Brokerage/Inv (Cash). The only ones I don't see are my 401(k) account, and the retirement account at T. Rowe Price where I keep my IRA's and old rollover accounts. This makes perfect sense, as your retirement funds aren't available for use as a day-to-day account where you deposit your paychecks and pay bills. Is it possible that you have designated the account you want to use for those things as a retirement account by mistake? | Working in Money 2006, with Advanced Budgets In the Budget Account Selector, the only accounts that are available for selection are normal bank & credit accounts (checking, savings, credit card, etc.). Investment Cash Accounts do not show up in the list. Therefore, any categorized transactions that come into that cash account never become part of the budget. | My budget allows me to choose which accounts I want to include. I am using M05. What is your version, and if it is a recent one, are you in Advanced Budget rather than Essential Budget? | I have investment accounts with associated cash accounts. The associated cash accounts receive categorized cash deposits (paycheck for example). The budget system does not allow me to include investment accounts in the budget. So all capital gains, dividends, paychecks, taxes, etc. are not available in a budget analysis. Am I missing something? Is something broken? Why would you design it that way? |
