Glad it worked for you, but a word of caution to others considering it:> all Online > Banking features for all accounts. Once I did that I could synch with > MSN. Then it was simply a matter of setting up online access to my > accounts. that's potentially problematic if you have direct bill pay with outstanding recurring payments. The bank still has the recurring payment scheduled. Money won't. Cancel the apays first. You don't have to cancel epays, but you'll lose the status link. That's only a one-time problem, so it's not a big hassle IMO. Losing the status link to a recurring payment is a recurring problem. -- Chris Cowles Gainesville, FL |

| well this was a long battle, but as of today we've got this fixed. I did get caught up in the MS bug regarding MSN Synch. Once they fixed that I no longer had hexadecimal account numbers. But I continued to get an error whenever I tried to do an MSN synch. Eventually, after trying many different things, they hit upon turning off all Online Banking features for all accounts. Once I did that I could synch with MSN. Then it was simply a matter of setting up online access to my accounts. Just thought I'd report what they figured out in case anyone else hits the same issue. |

| Been working with MS tech support. They did eventually report that this seems to be a new bug and they took MSN synch down for maintenance to work on this for the last few days. Since they've brought it back up I find that I am now able to synch without having my account numbers go all hexadecimal on me. I'd manually deleted all payees and recreated the ones for the online bills I needed to pay so I could get them out the door. With MSN synch turned off the bill pays worked fine. I checked with several vendors to verify they got the epays and credited them to the correct accounts. I've now re-enabled MSN synch and have discovered a new problem. Every time I synch I get: Your last call encountered an error <date/timeUpdates are temporarily unavailable. Please try again later. I reported this to MS and they are also aware of this issue. They say this means I have an account number longer than 26 characters and this throws the system. The fix: Turn off MSN Synch, view your payees, fix any with account numbers longer than 26 chars (remove spaces, dashes, etc). Then re-enable MSN synch. Thing is, I don't appear to have any accounts with longer account numbers. In fact, after my manual clean up I'm really down to just a 5 accounts. Longest number is 16 digits. I suspect maybe there's some cruft hanging out on the MSN side, maybe something with a longer number. I don't know. I've reported this to tech support an am awaiting a response. So far support has been good on this issue. I feel we're making progress. |

| Same problem here - 2006 Premium - Citizens Bank. The different versions and banks as well as the effect on Backup files had me thinking this was a Sync issue. I hope the problem they are fixing is this one! Kind of hard to send payments like this. | I am having the very same problem with Money 2006 Deluxe and my bank is "zWachovia". If I try to change the account numbers back manually, the change back to hex as soon as I upload statements. | I noticed this month that account numbers of payees have all changed to a 32 character hexadecimal number (they look like GUIDs to me). No matter how many times I reset them to the correct number, after I restart Money, or if I update online services they revert back to the weird looking number. This all seems to have occurred after I recently did a File Repair in Money to fix an issue with phantom transactions showing up. Is there any chance that this is normal behavior? If not, how do I recover from this. Just for fun I opened up an old archive version of my .MNY file. I viewed the account number for a certain Payee in the Payees list. And before my eyes, the number changed to the GUID-ish number. I noticed that Money was doing an online update in the background. I fear something is very wrong here, but I don't know how to fix it. Thanks. |
