Thanks for the first one, its a bit of a nusience
..
I input an Invoice in the business section, it adds tax and is fine.
I create a new account and put in that account 'payment for invoice' it
primes the amount field with the bottom line of the invoice...cool
..
but what it fails to do is automatically split the transaction to TAX/
Income and it doesnt show it up on any report either?

manually entering the payment for invoice and when the matching transaction
automatically downloads, I just delete that one. It take a couple of times
before it stops downloading that particular transaction.

Most of my transactions are split so I enter them manually and then match
with the downloaded version (payment for invoice is the exception).

Since you're talking VAT, I'm guesing you're not in the US, but I would
advise to watch any tax reports carefully. I've seen MS Money not include
Small Business income, Self Employment Tax etc for for the US version in
certain reports where should be. I've seen other people report the same
problem or maybe I'm just missing something. Quirks aside I've kept with
Money. I tried the 2006 Small Business version of Quicken. It didn't seem to
handle Hourly business models as well so I stuck with MS Money.

I am trialing Money for small business and downloading transactions from
bank, I am having probem with two things.
1. I try to reconcile the downloaded transaction and it doesnt work
Account register-select transaction(show transacton forms) Deposit-From,
category is Special - payment for invoice get the error message 'payment for
Invoice is not a valid selection for this transaction' HELP PLEASE, I'm about
to throw out the product.
2. when you do the above WHY dosent it split the transaction in the amount
field to the amount/VAT....help again please
