See http://support.microsoft.com/default...b;en-us;274584

Essentially you run the salv.exe application. Browse to your .mny
file. Let salv.exe produce a differently named .mny file that has
what we hope are improvements. Then open that improved .mny file
with Money.

I have been experiencing the *exact* problem - up to and
including incorrect balances (mine are in the
negatives!!). I've been with CNet's tech support for
nearly 24 hours and they've given up. I didn't have any
luck with the 'msmoney -s,' but, I don't understand the
salv.exe. Can you go into a bit more (read nearly step-by-
step <grin> ) detail for this sleep-deprived mind? I,
too, am getting ready to ditch Money. if I have to
manually re-enter everything, why not into another program
altogether?

Start with the easy and safe one; open Money with Start-> Run and
entering
"msmoney -s" without the quotes into the box.

Beyond that you will want to try salv.exe.

Default Can corrupted files be fixed?

My file has been corrupted in a bizarre way. One the home
page all my accounts in the billions (maybe even
trillions) of dollars.

When I go to the account page, though, the balance is as
it should be.

My backup file could not be loaded, and I'm not sure I
have the uncorrupted backup file anymore as this happened
several months ago.

Is there anyway to fix a corrupt file? This has pretty
much put me off using Money, and I used to use it
faithfully.
