Keep extra copies in case something does not work as you would like. |

| Thanks. I've been around computers a fair amount myself, and I don't think there's any other application that I use that so often leaves me feeling stupid -- not quite sure whether there's no way to do what I want, or there is a way but it's really well-hidden. |

| I am afraid I can not offer you assistance, but I can sympathize. I love the format and functionality of Money, but I frequently find that it behaves in ways which don't make sense. I am quite computer savy (I have a degree in Computer Science), but no matter what I do, the program just doesn't seem to work the way it should. Good luck, I hope you figure it out. | I'm not sure exactly how it happened (maybe because I had to make changes on a credit card account that had to be closed and re-opened with a new number, or maybe something to do with a random runtime error I've gotten a couple of times), but Money 2006 had apparently decided that a month's worth of transactions (about 65 items) had already been downloaded, and it wasn't going to accept them, even though they weren't in the register. They're all in an ofx file that I downloaded, but all my efforts to get them from file into account failed. Even a half hour or so poring through old email trails on this group didn't help. I finally gave up and did it manually, which took another 20 minutes or so (it helped that Money had already memorized some of those transactions, so it filled in some of the fields for me). Is there any way to get it to accept stuff like that? If not, why not? It's a great program when it works the way you want it to, but awfully frustrating when it insists on doing what you don't want. |
