| I read your post to indicate you are getting cash out of a refinancing. You want to figure out how to account for the cash/associate it with the mortgage loan account? Well, you can do this in Money, but the business logic enforced by the user interface makes it very difficult. http://umpmfaq.info/faqdb.php?q=86 may provide some ideas. Money is, more or less, a double entry bookkeeping system. It just makes some of this stuff more complicated than it needs to because they want someone who doesn't know squat about bookkeeping to think it's "easy" to use. | Money 2004. I have set up a mortgage account. the mortgage pays off some other loans at the same bank and gives me cash. If I post to my checking account, there is no way to assign a category that this came from the mortgage. Mortage already has its full balance. How do I post this cash and assign it as having come from the mortgage or, in other words, how can I set up the account so that the mortage proceeds go into checking then I can allocate how it went.... I could do this in a double-entry bookeeping system.... Many thanks Ron |
