In addition, to the other comments, here are some more comments on> voided, then re-processed, transactions. starting balance. The balancing paradigm is that you receive a statement that covers a period of time, or at least it covers a set of transactions not covered by other statements. The transactions covered by previous statements should have been marked as balanced before starting. The net sum of the reconciled transactions should match the starting balance. Do not attempt to change the starting balance figure that you are given when you start the balance process. Instead be concerned that some transactions that were included in the previous statements are not marked as Reconciled, or that some transactions that were not present at the beginning of the statement period have been marked Reconciled too soon. | Taylor - I tried that. It hd no effect, probably because of the date of the transaction. The payment came after the "prior balance" amount. | I use MM04. A month ago I paid several bills, including some credit card bills. The balance in my check book was not enough to cover the bills, so I did an electronic transfer from savings. When my bank processed these transactions, they processed the bills first and needless to say came up with an insufficient funds condition. Because of the insuffficient funds situation, the bank voided four bill payments. Upon realizing that they had not processed the savings to checking transfer, the bank re-processed the four bill payments. A couple of weeks after this occurred, I balanced two of the credit card accounts effected by these transactions. Prior months balancing had gone with incident. This time, the starting balance was less by the amount of the voided, then re-processed, transactions. How do I correct this? |
