There is a way to add "News" to the Outlook tool bar - all it does FWIW is
call OE.

Nit: Outlook does email as well as calendar, contacts, and notes. Outlook
Express does email and newsgroups. Is there some link between Outlook (not
Express) and newsgroups of which I'm unaware?

You can run Outlook Express in newsreader-only mode by starting it using
'/news' as a command-line parameter.

Yes, Outlook is both an email ( SMTP / POP ) client and NNTP client.
Netscape can be used. Mozilla Thunderbird also. Someone told you how
to configure Outlook I presume. There are 1000's of NNTP groups or if
you prefer forums. It means Net News Transport Protocol. Careful as
some of it (NNTP) is not childproof (eg porn).

Have fun

Your ISP:
OrgName: Qwest Communications Corporation
OrgID: QCC-22
Address: 1801 California Street
City: Denver
StateProv: CO
PostalCode: 80202
Country: US

The NNTP headers are below my signature.
I have no idea what MS CDO for W2K might possible be.

People access NNTP groups either throght google groups
and their favorite browser or via an NNTP server via
their ISP. I am using my ISP's NNTP server and
forteinc freeagent client
there are others

I know this is rather geeky answer but it is 100% accurate.

Default Difficulty Accessing This Particular Forum

I consistently experience difficulty accessing this particular forum, i.e.
"Sorry, the page you requested is not available." I have a broadband
connection, but nevertheless it seems to time out...anybody else having the
same/similar experience. Other Community Newsgroups don't seem to have this
same problem? Can't be the volume, can it?

P.S. Same with ALL my computers...
