If you try to delete a category which has transactions, then Money should
present you with a dialog asking how the transactions should be
recategorized. I believe it's possible to set no category if you desire.

Tools-> FindAndReplace Advanced can enable you to change the category
of transactions based on particular criteria. You may want to
increase the number of backups that Money 2006 keeps for you;
backups are your undo mechanism.

I would like to review all categories and subcategories in my Money file,
deleting those who I do not use or no longer wish to use. Accomplishing
this, what happens to categories deleted that have transactions associated
with them. Do they revert to a transaction without category?

Any help is greatly appreciated.
