This sounds likely to me: you save it as abc.mny and the floppy is bad
so the existing filename is A~C.mny
Next time use a new -blank- floppy and see if it works. Then try it
again and see if it acts as you expect (prompt)

Hi,

Money 2004 would not have had an update to my knowledge, however it is
likely that the two backup files having different file names would be the
cause of this issue.
also if something has corrupted the backup currently on the floppy it could
render it unrecognizable by Money causing it to duplicate the file if same
name is being used.

I suspect that the difference is that you crossed from having the
backup file take less than 50% of the space on the disk, to more
than 50%.

I strongly recommend you use a USB flash drive or two for the
backups. They hold more, and they are significantly more reliable.

Default Money 2004 Backup

When I backup money to a floppy it would ask if I wanted to replace the
previous Money file that was on the floppy with the new file. Now when I
backup Money wants to add the new file without replacing the old file. The
file is being compressed to 725KB,but with the old file still on the floppy
Money asks for another floppy to complete the backup.Has Money had an update
or change to cause this?
