Default Re: Pay in full still charges interest

I can confirm this only occurs when CC bills are managed by the DRP.
(My experience is from M04). It is also, until someone figures out
another way (or the MS Money team adds the functionality), the only way
to have the CC bill amounts in Bills & Deposits dynamically update to
reflect the totals in the actual CC register, as opposed entering a
static amount (an average expected value) that never changes until you
edit the bill to modify the amount. I reported this in the recent 'What
would you like to fix in Money?' thread. Have to add details on how to
reproduce it.

I do like having the bill amounts dynamically update each month, mostly
just to have an accurate cash flow forecast, and also to be able to see
the real amounts (or close to it) in the bills page.

Andrew, I have yet to figure out this aspect of it, but I *think*
there's a little bit of a grace period at work in how it calculates the
interest and adds that to the total. The part I haven't figured out is
say in DRP you setup a CC payment as being due on the 25th of each
month. If you balance and pay that CC bill on the 20th, five days ahead
of due date, it calculates more interest than if you paid the bill 10 or
15 days ahead of the due date. So I suspect it ramps up the interest
the longer you wait to pay, which doesn't really make sense if you pay
in full by the due date each month. Don't know how it works exactly,
but was hoping to experiment with due dates setup in DRP and how much
interest it adds vs. how many days before the due date you pay.

Having said all that, I think the best you can ever get is having the
total amount due rounded up to the next whole dollar. I've never seen
it actually use less than a whole dollar amount.

It does?

I think you will find this is only on the bills managed by DRP. For this
reason, I don't have DRP manage the bills--though I thought the way it
tracked the balance was cool. I just schedule an average expected value.

Though the bills are setup in the DRP, I am speaking to the Advanced Bills
section - it auto calculates/projects interest on the payments I've marked
to Pay In Full each month. No interest should be calculated on those
payments.

When you say "charges interest" do you mean projects the interest expense in
Debt Reduction Planner? Are you using Advanced Bills? Advanced Register?

Default Pay in full still charges interest

Using 2006 but haven't asked this question but it's finally annoyed me
enough to finally ask.

When I mark a credit card bill to be paid in full each month, Money still
calculates the interest on that payment. How I can stop this behavior other
than setting the interest to 0% - which is not what I don't want to do.
