| I called support, and they confirmed the problem. No details, no timeframe. I called billing and a refund is on its way. Good luck. | I'm having exactly the same problem, and I've tried and tried all I what have been suggested in these posts, plus changing computers, plus purchasing the full version after deleting the upgraded-trial version. Passport shows I've two subsriptions: $39.99 + $59.99 = $99.98 - and I'm not mentioning the waste of time. Microsoft, if you bother to read this, please respond now. If somebody figures out how to fix this, please drop a note at ypyc[at]yahoo.com. Thanks, Pierre "Kacela" wrote: - quote - > My downloaded purchased version of Money 2006 Deluxe says "Trial Version" > after updates are applied. | Oh, it happened. I guess me calling the download version of Money "a piece of shit" upset somebody over there, as well my stating that Microsoft had already "ripped me off for $60", and that I was unwilling to shell out another $35 dollars for support. | I have exactly the same problem. It does not matter how many times I uninstall, reinstall Money, or how many new files "Test" I create I always get the same Trial after Money completes the download process after Installation. Of course I'm signing in with my passport account, the same I've used to purchase the software, the only one I got by the way. I have already formated and reinstalled all my Laptop, a pain in the ass process, but unforuntantly the problem persist. If anybody knows how to fix this issue woth being charged with a 35 USD please let us know. | Somebody there deleted the post I made a few hours ago. It had all of the actual error messages from not recognizing the Money PID as being valid. The post also stated that the pre update serial was the same before and after the update broke the application. I verified the post was there, so somebody physically deleted it. I guess they didn't like my wording. | Could not open an email ticket with Microsoft because it does not recognize my serial number. You'ld have to get the actual error message from the post that you deleted. I'm not going to spend $35 more for support, when I've already been taken for $60 from Microsoft. I need real help. Deleting a post isn't helpful at all. | I've been trying since I downloaded the purchased program on the 19th of this month, so it's not a server issue. I've also temporarily disabled ALL IE security and firewall to see if that has any effect - it doesn't. I am using XP as the Administrator of the machine, and I've created a totally new machine account for this purpose, but have experienced the same failure. The only way I can utilize the program I've paid for is to completely uninstall Microsoft Money and then reinstall it. On the first launch after reinstall, It wont say Trial Version until I exit the program and restart the program after getting force fed the updates. Alternatively, in IE6, start with Tools-> Options-> Security-> LocalIntranet-> DefaultLevel which may be sufficient. If that does not let you updated, and if you are using XP, I would try creating a new user with Administrator privilege. Switch to that user and start Money with a new blank file with that same Passport you used to purchase Money. Let Money download the updates as that user. The theory is that if the problem is an IE6 setting, you will get default settings for the new user. If you succeed this way, it would accomplish the download, and it would point toward the reason the other did not work. You can delete the new user later, and your regular IE6 settings will not have been changed. |

| My downloaded purchased version of Money 2006 Deluxe says "Trial Version" after updates are applied. I've followed to the letter, knowledge base article http://support.microsoft.com/default...b;en-us;889930 Plus, I've followed prevoius recommendations of: "If you want something other than to do that, do something slightly different. Create a NEW empty file (named perhaps Temp.mny) that you put the referenced Passport onto. Let Money download data that it needs. Close Money. Restart Money."
