| Thank you for your help... or lack of... I really needed help but there no option but to hope someone see's my message and can help. I realize you have to help others too but I need more than hoping someone replys to this thread. After all the Microsoft products I've purchased, I thought I'd be supported but.... I found out that Quicken has a toll-free number and I can talk to a real person for help. I'm switching to them! | That's my problem... like the other guy in this thread, I had a PC crashed and I lost most downloaded programs (I had some on my backup server) but in an effort to restore my Money Deluxe that I purchase a few weeks back I had to download a trial as the 2006 I purchased was automaticlly applied to my previous version. I was thinking by intsalling the trial and loging into my passport account that it would updated to the registered version... Wrong! I created a 'temp' file think it might trigger the update. Nope! Now, this 'trial' says it will expire in 15 days... Yikes! Time is running out! From my expeiance, I'll never buy an update via the Microsoft website as I need to have a CD should I need to reinstall again. Any other suggestions? There's no e-mail for a Customer Support so I can get a new file sent to me. "Cal Learner-- MVP" wrote: - quote - > In microsoft.public.money, BC4Bama wrote: > > Cal, I'm having the same problem... It is possible there is a server problem. http://groups.msn.com/M07-MVP/_whatsnew.msnw?&pps=k does not address such a problem, but those things sometimes don't get attention over the weekend. - quote - > "Cal Learner-- MVP" wrote: > > In microsoft.public.money, Grex wrote: > > > > y hard drive crashed and i had lost oall of my data. so i re-installed > > > Money nad signed in iwth my passport, but money still says trial version. > > > See http://support.microsoft.com/default...b;en-us;889930 > > and follow it if you want your Money file to use the same Passport > > on your Money file that you used when you bought Money. > > > If you want something other than to do that, do something slightly > > different. | Cal, I'm having the same problem... I tried creating the 'temp.mny' account that you mentioned in an effort to get the 'trial version' to download the 'Deluxe Version I purchase a few months back. It still won't update to the registered version even though I'm signing on with my hotmail account that I purchased it with?? I can see the receipt that was sent to my Hotmail account but for some reason I can't get the trial version to go away... and the 15 days is about to run out! | I figured it out. For some reason it thinks i want to install the delux version when i have purchased the standard version. i go through the inbstall fine and it look it registerd. No "Trail Version" the title. but then when i close an restart money. The trail pops backup and says Delux version. I have removed and re-installed but for some reason it keeps thinking delux. See http://support.microsoft.com/default...b;en-us;889930> Money nad signed in iwth my passport, but money still says trial version. and follow it if you want your Money file to use the same Passport on your Money file that you used when you bought Money. If you want something other than to do that, do something slightly different. Create a NEW empty file (named perhaps Temp.mny) that you put the referenced Passport onto. Let Money download data that it needs. Close Money. Restart Money. Confirm that Money shows the right version. Then click on your real Money file that is shown on the bottom of the File menu. |
