| I was on 2004 Deluxe, and earlier this year moved to 2006 Deluxe. I have been happy with the move. I have been a Money user for about 8 years, and I think my 2004 version was data corrupted without fix through repair. Funny things would happen a lot - problems getting downloads, not seeing transactions, etc. I exported all my data out, started a fresh data file in Money, and imported the data back in (there are threads about how to do this on this forum if you search Google). This year, knock on wood, Money 2006 has been rock-solid for me. While there are features I am not particularly happy with how they work (as was true on 2004), at least the data got a lot more solid for me. My .02.. | If you use the auto account update downloads and it will expire this year then you will be forced to upgrade or move to Quicken or not mind manual transaction download. I had M03 and the M06 was $20 at Costco with rebate and I have too many accounts I maintain to waste time with manual transaction downloading. I could care less about the so called Personal Money management but if I did, that doesn't seem any different IMO. The ETF - exchange traded funds - whatever is bull s..t. Like I really care about the MS money / finance site? If I want a fancy investment site I can go and play at the Smartmoney site with all kinds of great investment toys ... mostly free, including smarter portfolios. arthur == On Sat, 22 Apr 2006 17:46:32 -0500, "Shhhh" <123[at]456.com> wrote: - quote - > Hello all, > I currently use Money 2004 Deluxe, just looking for some opinoins on weather > or not it is worth upgrading to 2006 Deluxe or Premier? | Based on my experience: Better delivery of ads. More time to look at them whilst waiting for the application to catch up. Account numbers in the account list mangled with a bunch of xx's so you can't see the account number you typed in in the first place. More crashes. Inability to schedule an investment purchase without being able to predict a future price for the investment. Tools|Options is now Tools|Settings but is otherwise much more confused, rather than less. A whole new set of operations called Essential (Register, Budget, Reports, Bills) that are mostly exceedingly just dumbed down things for people who don't actually want to use personal finance management software to manage their personal finances. (In M05 Microsoft told us everywhere that "most users prefer" these modes even though no users had ever actually seen them before.) Yodlee, for what that's worth. No ability to download less than every account from a financial institution you tell Money about. I could go on but maybe you get some ideas what you are up against. See http://umpmfaq.info/Money2006.htm and its important corollary page http://umpmfaq.info/Money2005.htm. For some insight into Yodlee, see http://umpmfaq.info/faqdb.php?q=171. (I'm told that at least one of its reference links is now dead.)
