Default Re: transferring money program and data

You need to install Money on the new PC and then move the Money file across.
Unless you have renamed it you want Mymoney.mny.

Some settings under Tools > Options aren't on the *.mny file so you may need
to open up Money on the old PC to see what's there.

Default transferring money program and data

I recently purchased a new computer (finally). my old
system ran windows 95, the new windows xp professional.
What is the easiest way to transfer my money files from
the old computer to the new one? Do I have to re-install
the program and then load my data file? I am not very
computer literate. I was told there is a type of cable
from microsoft that allows you to transfer both programs
and data when you purchase a new computer. I have not
been able to locate this.

I purchased intellimomver to transfer things from the
old to the new, but am concerned that I will transfer
everything, I'm really only concerned about the Money file
and 3 years of tax programs and returns. Any help would
be greatly appreciated.

thanks
Rob
