| I discovered the same workaround but with a twist. These accounts had already been created and imported from Quicken which I had used without downloads. And both had the same institution. Once I set up my account for downloads, Money assumes all other accounts set up for the same institution will downlaod from the same login id. So too fool Money I had to change the institution on my wife's to a made up name. Only then would money display the option to "setup online updates". I clicked on that, which takes you through the steps on selecting a financial institution from Money's list. I picked "American express card". Money then noticed that there already is an account with that institution and asks if it has same login or separate. I clicked separate and then was able to store her id and password. Microsoft needs to fix this. Very few people could figure this out. Barry. | May not be acceptable to others but I use separate .mny files for different family members. For a total view eg husband + wife I create a spreadsheet per year by month ie 12 columns. Once per month I update the spreadsheet with the monthly money account numbers. A block of rows is assigned to the person. arthur == On Wed, 12 Apr 2006 12:42:38 -0400, "barry milliken" <barry.milliken[at]verizon.net> wrote: - quote - > My wife and I have seperate american express card accounts (not 2 cards on > the same account). > On the web we have separate login ids and passwords to Amex. > Money seems to assume and only allows one logon id per financial institution > for automatic downloads. > So I can set up my account for automatic downloads. Then if you see "Confirm the name of your financial institution" select American Express from the list. That way Money treats them as separate institutions and makes separate OFX requests with separate access info. |

| My wife and I have seperate american express card accounts (not 2 cards on the same account). On the web we have separate login ids and passwords to Amex. Money seems to assume and only allows one logon id per financial institution for automatic downloads. So I can set up my account for automatic downloads. But then I cannot set up her's. Is there any way around this limitation? Barry Milliken |
