There is indeed a server problem. It is not for all servers. So there can be some success, but the rest of the problem is being addressed. So try later, and things should work properly. - quote - > "Cal Learner-- MVP" wrote: > > In microsoft.public.money, drew.a.perkins[at]gmail.com wrote: > > > > I am having the same 1% download problem and am getting pretty ticked > > > off... > > > > > If anyone has an answer I would love to hear it. > > > Ok... | I am also experiencing the same 1% download problem... the support site does not reconize my PID and when manually typed in states that it is invalid. This does seem to be a trend. I cannot guarantee that, of course. Another possibility is that there is some temporary server outage. I am confident that you already told yourself that you would get the CD if doing this again. |

| Thansk Cal I have reduced the security on the intranet zone perviously. Also, I just removed my Norton Corporate Scanner (per your suggestion). Still No Go Also, yes, I created a NEW Admin Account loosened all of the security on this account, and created a new money file. Still , I cannot get the updates download function to work. I appreciate your suggestions- got any others? Do you or anyone else know of a regular download location to manually download these updates? It would be nice if this program could function like other Microsoft software to get it's updates from WUS. And to vent, Microsoft should be really smacked for putting out software that requires you to disable things like: Virus Scanners, firewalls, local security levels, etc.. in order get the updates for the software package. It is just bad application development. Thanks Chris "Cal Learner-- MVP" wrote: - quote - > In microsoft.public.money, Chris wrote: > > Hi there Group > > Totally bummed out with the new money. | Hi there Group Totally bummed out with the new money. Just got a new machine preloaded with 2006 standard. I have been using Money 2000 ever since it came out and love it. But the new OEM version did not have the cash flow tools that I pretty much live on. So I bought the upgrade on line from Microsoft. Now when I go to reports--> cash flow, it says that Money is updating and it gets stuck at 1%. I have found a lot of info on this and have tried the following fixes from Google groups and other sources: 1. Log with an alternate account with admin privledges, start a new money file, see if the download works 2. Disable the Windows XP firewall 3. Put my machine in my hardware firewall's DMZ 4. Disable virus scanner 5. Re-isntall with disabled virus scanner 6. re-install under different user 7. Remove all Money references in the system, reinstall with the DMZ on, the Virus scanner off 8. Reduced the security on my IE under both profiles and so on... to make matters worse, I cannot even get an email support thread started with Microsoft as the Microsoft validation tool is unable to locate my product number and when I manually type it in, the system says that my product number is invalid. This is very frustrating. All I want to do is my finances. Any help would be apprecaited, thanks in advance to all of the MVP's who help users like me. thanks Chris |
